When reading the press release put out by the City about Long Beach being listed #9 in a University of Illinois study, unfortunately the link in the press release went to two studies -- a 2009 study in which Long Beach was listed #17 and a differently named study for 2012.
I apologize for not seeing the second study, which I am linking for readers.
The 2012 study does indicate that Long Beach was bumped up from #17 to #9 because of the use of Facebook and Twitter. That is excellent news.
We still need to improve our performance in the transparency and accessibility area -- which is what knocked us down in the first study.
